Social Agricolture

A special occasion

One day, just before Christmas, I felt a deep inner sadness thinking that I would have spent the Christmas once again in platitudes, following the usual Christmas rituals and frivolities with relatives.
So, I firmly decided to change something and I asked my wife Claudia to help me organizing something different for someone else less fortunate than us. Therefore we arranged a special day for children with difficult families: we spent the day playing small games outdoors, discovering the magical world of the countryside dressed like Gnomes, preparing a bonfire, and playing an impromptu tale of Cappuccetto Rosso, whose dresses were prepared by my wife the day before, working until late at night.
At the end of the day, these beautiful children, rewarded us with their love, their hugs and their desire to come back to us soon. Inevitably we felt the need to repeat this experience.
That is, if I were to explain what is the meaning of solidarity, I'd explain it with this small gesture of love. Simple yet forceful, capable of breaking the cage of egoism and trigger a positive spiral of humanity.

Abandon oneself to arrive at the true essence of man and things

The first time we heard about Social Farming was thanks to a project involving the reintegration of a disadvantaged person. We approached the project with great fear and with many doubts, led perhaps by the need for more manpower than by a real altruistic desire. Yet the project was very successful this person is fully integrated in the farm. The caterpillar is putting on wings.
Thanks to this experience we offered our availability to work in other projects aimed at helping other disadvantaged people, and participating actively in social reintegration projects, internships and didactic farming projects.
